David Merrill
David Merrill is builds technological tools to extend human creativity and capabilities. His connected learning toy company Sifteo was acquired by drone-maker 3D Robotics in 2014 to become the kernel of a new consumer product group. At 3DR he was PM on multiple projects, filed IP for the company, and most recently served as VP of Enabling Technology where he led a small team scouting and prototyping technical possibilities for future products. Prior to 3D Robotics, David was president and co-founder of Sifteo, a San Francisco hardware+software startup spun out of his research at the MIT Media Lab. He has built multiple award-winning interfaces and technologies that reshape how people use computers. Dave and his work have been featured at TED, MoMA, the Discovery Channel, Popular Science and Wired. David holds a BS in Symbolic Systems and an MS in Computer Science from Stanford University, and an MS and PhD from the MIT Media Lab.

 

Ashley Reese
User Experience Researcher, Google

Ashley is currently a user experience researcher on Google Play. Her research focus is in foundational and evaluative research during early product development on consumer facing products. As the primary researcher on a smartwatch application at Google, Ashley had the opportunity to work closely with the designer and PM to develop new features, while sharing insights with stakeholders on Google voice search, accessibility, and Android smartwatch teams. Currently, she works across the suite of Google Play apps conducting research in the U.S. and international markets. 

 

Alex Greenspan
Alex is a computer science and cognitive science graduate from UC Berkeley. Currently, Alex works as an Associate Product Manager at Google. What inspires me? Design, photography, writing, and working with people to make a difference. Alex served as an Inventioneer at the UC Berkeley CITRIS Invention Lab, President for Berkeley Innovation, and was a Founding Member of the Berkeley Student Design Council.
